Examiners choice of Jiyu Ippon sets 1-5 (hidari or migi)
Demonstration of Kaeshi Ippon Kumite
Okori-Jiyu Ippon Kumite
Jiyu Kumite against 4 consecutive Dan grades
Any of the 1st Kyu, Shodan or Nidan katas (at examiners discretion)
Plus any Tokui high grade Kata of the students choice.
Demonstration of Tokui Kata Bunkai
Demonstration of bunkai of the examiners choice.
In depth Oral Examination, including first aid polices & procedures
Knowledge of Brief History of Karate,
The Kosugi Tiger - Symbol of Shotokan,
Karate Belt History,
Some other Traditional Karate styles,
Other Martial Arts,
and general CFTS association information.
You need to be qualified as an coach/instructor & hold a current certificate.
Demonstration of Teaching Ability: plan & teach a lesson on a subject set by the examiners on a different occasion to the grading.
Demonstration of Tameshawari (Breaking Techniques)
This syllabus is intended as a guide only and to assist with personal training. In a grading the order of the techniques may be changed as may the combinations themselves.
Any Kata and kumite from any previous grading should be expected to be performed thus ensuring continued practice.
N.B. Remember the attitude, etiquette, manners and above all the spirit displayed by the student whilst grading is as important as the techniques and combinations themselves.
