I started karate in 2007 after having seen a demonstration at school. I thought it looked awesome and saw it as an opportunity to try something new. I started out a very shy person, but training as part of C.F.T.S. has given me the confidence to stand up for myself. I enjoy kata the most because I love learning bunkai and how it can be applied differently to different situations.

I achieved my black belt on 10/10/15. Stereotypically, I was unsure whether I would have the strength mentally and physically to do this. On the day I was very nervous, I kept going and didn’t let mistakes hinder my confidence. This proved to me that with hard work and dedication you can do anything you put your mind to.

Thank to everyone at C.F.T.S., I would not be where I am today without you. I am proud to be a part of C.F.T.S. Every lesson I feel like I come out a better person, and with your jokes you have cheered me up on a back day.

I don’t know where my journey will take me, but I am excited to see where karate may take me in the future.
