The first round of gradings took place on Saturday 11th March at Lincroft Academy. We had a
fairly large group grading for the time of year and the standard of the group was high, having
had some people hold off their grading in December to allow for extra practice.
The grading began with a formal bow, warm up before splitting into grade groups to be taken by
the dan grades in attendance through their syllabus. We came back together to do kata, working
our way from takiyoku shodan up to the J katas.
The trophy presentations followed and were presented by Shihan McClagish to the recipients of
the 3 clubs.
As mentioned, there was a high standard and all students were very pleased with their result.
A big thank you to all the dan grades who were on hand to assist on the day.
If you didn’t grade this time, don’t worry as June will soon be here!

Students from Newton Longville, Newport Pagnall, Bletchley and Green Park were in attendance for the first grading of 2023.
With the assistance of the dan grades, the groups were warmed up, had a run through of their syllabi and then graded by the 4th Dan instructors.
It was a good turnout with a few nice surprises and a good standard of knowledge coupled with plenty of enthusiasm!
Congratulations to all who took part, thank you to the parents/guardians who also enjoyed the day and a big thank you to the dan grades for assisting.
