I have had an interest in Martial arts for many years, and began training in Wado-Ryu Karate in 1985 at the age of 12 under Sensei Ian McCranor 6th Dan in my home city of Coventry.
Over the next years I graded to 1st Kyu in Wado and competed in many tournaments in kumite which I have always enjoyed immensely.
Mainly due to work and studying, I took a short break which lasted the next 20 years, although I always considered myself a Karateka in this time.
In 2009 I moved to Riseley and started taking my son to the village club ran by Sensei Saunders and found myself training again.
Since then I have enjoyed learning Shotokan Karate and training with a number of the CFTS Instructors, and was guided to Shodan by Shihan McClagish in November 2014, achieving a long held ambition.
