I began my karate training under John Van Weenen in 1979 at the TASK honbu in Bedford, culminating in achieving Black belt in 1981. I have always enjoyed the traditional and competitive aspects of karate. I entered a variety of regional and national tournaments competing in both kata and kumite with a variety of successes. I also toured other associations mainly in England but occasionally elsewhere in Europe as a participating member of the TASK squad on exchange visits.

It was in this association that I ultimately graded to 4th dan with Sensei Van Weenen in 1992. I formed TSKAGB in 1994 from a nucleus of Hertfordshire based clubs. I am currently still actively teaching in my association of clubs and maintaining my personal training.
